Fee Policy

GP CONSULTATIONS

No matter how long you spend with your GP the consultation fee after your Medicare rebate is $60 on weekdays before 5 pm and $70 on weekends and after 5 pm on weekdays.
Note: Specialised practitioner services will attract a higher fee.

Pension card holders are charged a reduce gap of $25 Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. Standard gap fees as shown above apply to after 5pm and weekends.

At the time of your consultation, the full amount is payable and you will be reimbursed the difference by Medicare within 48 hours. If you have not linked Medicare with your bank account already you can do so by clicking here.

PHONE OR VIDEO CONSULTATIONS (TELEHEALTH)

Currently, Medicare offers the same rebates for existing patients so if you have been to Balmain Village Health for any GP consultation in the last 12 months, you will receive a rebate as you would if you had a regular face-to-face consultation.

If you are a new patient or your last consultation was over 12 months ago, unfortunately, Medicare will not reimburse you. You will be required to pay the full fee upfront with no Medicare rebate.

Telehealth consultations incur the same fee structure as shown above.

At the time of booking your telehealth consultation via our online platform, we request your credit card. You will not be charged until after the consultation and we will only ever charge you fees in accordance with your GPs instructions.

BuLK BILLING

Immunisations for children are bulk-billed on weekdays before 5 pm.

No services are bulk-billed after 5 pm or at any time on the weekends, unless for specific circumstances at your GPs discretion.

PROCEDURES

If your GP offers a procedure they will notify you regarding any fees prior to providing the service.

Cancellation Policy

We reserve a right to charge a $50 fee for failure to attend a booked consultation or if you cancel the appointment within 3 hours. Higher fee will incur for longer consultations. Your GP may waive at their discretion on a case-by-case basis.

PAYMENT METHOD

Payment methods accepted are cash or card (debit or credit) - AMEX not accepted.
All card payments attract a small merchant fee
